FAMILYDAY

My family is still back in the States meeting old friends and extended family. MarksMomma is still sending me pictures and videos of Mark as he grows up.

I guess if there's a time to be away from your kid, this is the best age for it, at least for the kid. Every time I start getting frustrated and upset I just think of MarksMomma having to take care of Mark all by herself and my problems don't seem so bad.

Love you Sweetie!

Awe Bandit, that's so "dad!" Awesome. I am sorry you have to be away from your wife and son. Thank you and your family for all you sacrifice.

Just remember, bandit, you are following a long line of men. You are following a tradition that goes all the way back to the founding of this nation, a tradition of men who left their families and fought to bring them a sense of security.

In a sense it is like building a house for a family to live in. A house that a woman can turn into a home for her family. It is the good man that builds a house, strong and secure.

A good house is built upon a good foundation. Its walls must be built for stability. Its roof must give shelter.

You and all your brothers and sisters, and now, your Iraqi counterparts are pouring the foundation for the house of Iraq.
For every nation is the home of its people. And families must feel secure from threats within the walls of that nation, both internally and externally.

If you look back in history it has always been a tradition of neighbors helping in the building of a home. you are being that neighbor in the building of a new nation. And the type of neighbor that I and all here who admire you would be proud to live next to and call neighbor.

Hey Griper, Sure liked your comments about the "house" that Bandit is "building". He and Mrs. Bandit and son, Mark, are about as solid as a family can be, personally, spiritually, socially, professionally and whatever other "ally" comes to mind. Should add that their blogs are terribly addicting, also. What extraordinary people they are.

Griper's right Bandit. You've set the foundation, and you're building a future. I'd have to say Mark's going have a lot to be proud of. I also think he must have heard about the ice cream thread. He's got that spoon ready for action!

And you are in Baghdad just to avoid changing diapers. Right?
That is your excuse and you are sticking to it.
