FAMILYDAY

I apologize for the old picture, my son and my sweetie have wrapped up their trip to the States so I should be getting a new batch of pictures shortly.

The thought of going home is always on my mind now. Whenever I get a moment where I'm not actively engaged in something I'll start thinking about my family - going to that nice little pizzaria/ice cream parlor with them, going to the coffee shop in town, going on walks by the river with them... well I guess it would be more of a "carry" or "roll" for Mark. In any case, being able to go home at the end of the day and see them is going to be nice.

You painted a nice picture of you back home with your family. It's a time I look forward to hearing about. Midnight in Iraq came home, and it was great to see pics of him kicking back in his yard relaxing wit friends and family. Won't win any photo contests, but it sure is good for hearts and minds.

Bandit,

You'll be home before you know it! I am making time go real fast for ya! Well it is going fast at my end anyway LOL.

Can't wait to see all those pictures of you at the coffee house, you and your wife enjoying an ice cream cone with Mark!

Come visit us in Washington State sometime on vacation too! :)

ahhhh home. nothing like it. But every time I hear that word from you and think about where you are I see something else too.

I can just visualize you taking your son back there one day when he is old enough to really appreciate and remember the experience. I can see you introducing him to all the Iraqi friends you made there. I can visualize you walking around the city showing him all the places that have significance to you now and seeing the changes that have occurred. Changes I might add that would only be good.

Would be a real lesson in history and geography that he would never get in school. Also an experience he could pass on to his kids.

But those are visualization of an old geezer that is a civilian. A civilian that can only watch as history is being made before his very eyes.

Oh one more thing. I've been hearing around the blogs that the ISF has captured a biggie bad man up near Kurdistan. Any truth to it?

The Griper,
The only inaccuracy in that report is that it was in Kurdistan. Muntasir al Jubouri was picked up in the Diyala province recently. He is the leader of Ansar al-Sunna.

Beautiful baby ("old" pictures or not)! And Griper...you brought tears to my eyes with your vision of Bandit and his son! I pray for that day, too!
